Salt and Tar is located on Washington Parade, Bootle town centre, L20 1AA, just a short walk from Bootle New Strand train station and Bootle bus station.

Train: Bootle New Strand train station is just a 3-minute accessible route via Washington Parade. The northern line offers direct trains to Bootle New Strand from Southport and Liverpool. From Ormskirk and Kirkby change at Sandhills and get the Southport train to Bootle New Strand.

Bus: Bootle New Strand bus station is also a 3-minute accessible route on Washington Parade, with additional stops  on Stanley Road.

Salt and Tar does not have dedicated parking, but there is some on-street parking nearby. Public car parks within walking distance include: The Strand Shopping Centre Multistorey, Delaware Road Multistorey and Bootle Leisure Centre. 

If using on-street parking, please pay close attention to signage  to ensure that you’re not parking in a residential zone.

We aim to include timings on our events page, but for some events, like our live music weekend in August, we can only confirm them on the day. Updates will be shared on our social media.

Tickets for the live music weekend are available through Eventim, See Tickets, and Ticketmaster. Please note, the venue does not manage ticketing. For bookings, changes, refunds, or duplicate tickets, contact your ticket provider directly.

Attendees must be aged 14+ and those who are under 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times when inside the venue.

Accessible tickets are available to purchase via Ticketmaster who are managing this on behalf of the promoters. As capacity is limited, we recommend booking early to avoid disappointment.

Doors open at 4pm, with last entry at 7pm, and events ending at 10pm each day. Performer stage times will be announced on the day and shared on our social media, so stay tuned!

One small bag per person is permitted, no larger than A4 size. Height: 29.7cm, width: 21cm, depth: 15cm. Large bags (including rucksacks) are not allowed.

No, although there are some picnic benches to sit at in the food court area near to the back of the site. You’re not allowed to bring your own seating.

The live music weekend is booked and promoted by an external promotions company. Salt and Tar are unable to take any requests for performer contact or dedications.

Our Fringe Festival is made up of a variety of ticketed and non ticketed events. You can find further information on each of the individual event listings. Those that are ticketed can be purchased from See Tickets via our event listings.

Each event/activity may have different age requirements. If there’s a minimum age, it will be listed on our event and ticketing pages. Most free events in the food and drink village are family-friendly and suitable for all ages.
